The Patrol Bureau serves as the Police Department's largest section with over 80 sworn personnel. Considered to be the backbone of any police organization, the primary responsibility of the Officers in the Patrol Bureau is to respond to calls for service (911). Officers also provide a variety of additional services, including:

Ride Alongs
The West Valley City Police Department offers ride-alongs for the public as well as our current police applicants. If you are a police applicant, you will be arranged a ride-along during the hiring process. If you are a member of the public and requesting a ride-along, please complete this form, and we will reach out and contact you with the information you provide and arrange and schedule a ride-along for you.
